I'm Ageing

Let’s move on to what interests me recently, shall we?

I never reveal my age. Because I am being safe and discreet but let's just say I am at the age where I need to really care for my skin.

I came to this realization in the middle of the night, something just popped in my brain telling me “hey, how’s your skin doing” and it has been a wake up call since. I’ve been ‘neglecting’ my skin due to good genes and thinking it doesn’t need much attention anyway because I have never had any skin problems growing up. But better be safe than sorry am I right?

And this also goes to those who asks about my skincare routine.

Now, as we age we need to step up a little to slow down the process of wrinkles, fine lines or simply aging.

Okay let’s move on with my daily routine:

I always keep it simple, I don’t really use much. Every morning I’ll start by cleansing my face then apply any moisturizer with Vitamin C ingredient to let antioxidants protecting the skin from UV light. And for my last step in my daytime regime is sunscreen. Since we’re living in a country where it is mostly Summer it is important to apply sunscreen in your routine. I know many ignoring the importance of applying sunscreen, sunscreen/SPF is important to protect the first layer of your skin to prevent black spots or skin pigmentations.

Night routine:

Again, just keep it simple. If I was out the whole day with a full face of makeup on, what I normally do is I will double cleanse my face. First off, I remove my makeup with an oil cleanser and cleanse it again with a normal foam/gel cleanser. The next step is I would apply retinol cream then moisturizer.

(Now please avoid retinol if you don’t have issues of aging and if you’re below twenty just stay away from retinol to avoid even more irritations on your skin.)

Retinol acts as antioxidants as well and it helps to “communicate” with your skin cell for healthier, youthful-looking skin. Why do I apply during the night? Because I truly believe that your skin cell works best at night when the body is in deep, restful sleep, the skin’s metabolism increases when we’re relaxed.

Just so you know retinol products can be a little bit pricey but it’s worth it. Hope this helps.
